[ASX: PME] today announced that Colorado- based Rays has chosen Visage® 7 to power radiologist interpretation across their national teleradiology network. Visage 7’s innovative, thin-client, server-side processing technology was selected for its ability to speed and enhance radiology interpretation by Rays’ radiologists.

Rays, one of the fastest growing teleradiology companies in the US, was recently honored by KLAS (www.klasresearch.com), an independent healthcare research and consulting firm, with the highest overall score in its recent study of teleradiology providers, “Teleradiology Services 2011: Times are Changing.” This was the second year in a row Rays has achieved the highest score in that report.

As part of the deal, Rays will standardise on the Visage 7 platform providing the group with a powerful, fully featured clinical desktop capable of handling the full range of radiological images in native 2D, 3D or 4D (3D with motion), all from within one application. Unlike standard web-based systems, Visage 7 does not require delivery of the entire imaging dataset from Rays data center to the remote reporting radiologist, speeding up the reporting process and at the same time reducing the dependency on high bandwidth availability.

“Rays is one of the most innovative and acclaimed teleradiology providers in the US” stated Pro Medicus CEO, Dr. Sam Hupert. “Their radiologists and best-in-class technology have taken a patient-centric approach that has won them recognition from within the industry, receiving the highest score in the prestigious KLAS teleradiology report 2 years running. We are fortunate to now include Rays into the Visage family of customers, something we believe will position us well in the fast growing teleradiology market in both the US and Europe.”
